The Project Team is not giving up, and shortly after our two-day conference, two lynxes (a male and a female), after completing treatment at the rehabilitation centre run by ZTP in Jab\u0142onowo, were released into the wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of them is Dawid, a 6-year-old male who came to us in 2019 and was released into the wild in the same year. Dawid is Azjatka's permanent partner, and the offspring of this pair contribute to the lynx population in Western Pomerania every year. Dawid was caught because of scabies, and thanks to the quick response, his treatment did not take too long, as his condition was not serious. We are glad that he was cured before mating season, as this way Azjatka will not be infected with this cruel parasite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second individual is a female named Jule, who was brought to the centre due to general health problems. She caused concern among the residents of W\u0119gorzyno, as she was seen at close range by many people and, despite the presence of onlookers, did not want to leave. Most likely, Jule was hit by a car. Fortunately, her condition was not serious, and after receiving medication and observation, she is also returning to the wild. Jule came to us in August this year as a one-year-old cat and was released at the beginning of September. We caught her in November, and now she is returning to nature, so her adventure in the wild is really just beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, our rehabilitation centre took in fourteen lynxes, ten of which were released back into the wild, one is still at the centre, and unfortunately we were unable to save the remaining three. Most of these animals were infected with scabies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
