Not so long ago, their tracks disappeared from our areas. It seemed that the lynx \u2013 this forest shadow, a living mystery \u2013 would be just a memory in textbooks and legends. But today we can proudly say: the lynx is returning to the West Pomeranian forests! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not just a return of a species. It is a return of a story. A story recorded as GPS traces, as the histories of each released lynx. The return of a hidden hunter, who has been part of the landscape for centuries. The lynx \u2013 an almost mythical animal \u2013 is once again leaving a clear mark of its presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to the years of efforts by ZTP, the support of partners, and international cooperation, a program for the reintroduction and restitution of lynxes is ongoing in northern Poland. These animals are gradually being returned to nature. We are observing their first steps, migrations, and even \u2013 with great joy \u2013 the births of young ones in the wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are moments that touch hearts and show that nature can regenerate if we allow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\udcfd\ufe0f\u00a0On the occasion of Lynx Day, we share with you a film that showcases the beauty of one of our charges – Kaskader. Why the name Kaskader? As a small kitten, he lost his mother and did not have time to learn appropriate behaviors. He climbed trees from which he could not descend. He got stuck on one of them for 6 days. He was rescued twice by the ZTP Emergency Service. Today we know that Kaskader has become the father of a new generation of lynxes that have just been born in the Dzika Zagroda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LIFE22-NAT-PL-LIFE LYNX PL LT DE project \u201cExpanding the range of the lynx population in northern Poland,\u201d which has been co-financed by the European Union and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, is being implemented by: the West Pomeranian Nature Society, the Spychowo Forest District, the Ecosystem Protection Center Association (Lithuania), Rewilding Oder Delta (Germany), and the WWF Poland Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
