We are delighted to announce that the West Pomeranian Nature Society has released another seven young lynxeswhich will boost the population of these predators in the northern part of the country! 💚
📡 Each lynx has been fitted with a telemetry collarallowing us to track their first steps in the wild and see how they are coping in their new environment.
🔹 When are young lynxes released ? We release the kittens just before the mating season, when the lynxes are re-paired. At Dzika Zagroda we are keeping our fingers crossed that this year's mating season will be successful! 🤞
🌍 How does it work ? Every year, lynxes born in our enclosure are released into the wild. Sometimes our population is also reinforced with individuals from abroad. This is one of the key methods of reintroduction, aimed at rebuilding the wild lynx population in Poland.
