The LIFE LYNX PL LT DE project has been running since October 2023. Thanks to this funding, we can continue the lynx reintroduction programme in north-western Poland.
Last year, our population was joined by six more individuals from foreign breeding centres located in Germany and Austria. Thanks to many years of cooperation with private parks, we can continue to release lynxes.
This year, we plan to release lynxes from our own breeding programme, whose parents have been genetically matched and who themselves have excellent genotypes qualifying them for release.
Below are some photos showing the entire process of acquiring lynxes – from bringing them in from western centres to releasing them into the wild.
