On February 24, 2022, ZTP received information from the Forest District Manager of Kalisz Pomorski about a killed lynx in the area of the town of Kalisz Pomorski. ZTP employees confirmed the information and went to the site to conduct an inspection. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was a female lynx born in the wild
Moreover, it was a female in oestrus, and an adult male was hanging around in her vicinity, so copulation could have occurred. This lynx was most likely pregnant This makes us even more horrified by the act committed by the perpetrator. Lynxes have been released into the wild for only two years, and they are already facing such a lack of acceptance. A bullet was found at the scene that was used to shoot the lynx, so we hope that the Police will find the perpetrator. An investigation is currently underway.

An investigation is currently underway.This incident is doubly sad for us because, firstly, a lynx born in the wild has died, and secondly, it was most likely the daughter of Rózia – the lynx that was brought in by ZTP as the first! This information will be confirmed through genetic testing.
