Next week, our lynxes will set off on their way to a new place, where a new stage of their life will begin. Before they are released into the wild, they will travel in specially designed transport crates. These are small constructions of great importance for the safety of animals.
The boxes are quite cramped — and this is on purpose. Limited space prevents sudden movements, so the lynx will not hurt itself during transportation. Inside there is a layer of hay, which absorbs bumps and moisture.
Each box has a system of ventilation holes to ensure a constant supply of air. The structure is based on a lightweight, durable aluminum frame, and the walls are made of durable, laminated plywood resistant to damage and weather conditions.
Safety is a priority:
The box is closed with two locks
In addition, it is secured by a latch with a grid, through which we can quickly and safely check the condition of the animal
It is possible to open from two sides, which facilitates field and veterinary activities
This is an example of how many technical details are behind the effective protection of wild animals.
