We are pleased to inform you that the Western Pomeranian Nature Society has released another seven young lynxes, which will strengthen the population of these predators in the northern part of the country! 💚
📡 Each lynx has been equipped with a telemetry collar, allowing us to track their first steps in the wild and check how they are adapting to their new environment.
🔹 When are young lynxes released? The kittens are released just before the mating season, at which point the lynxes are paired again. At the Dzika Zagroda, we are keeping our fingers crossed for this year’s mating to be successful! 🤞
🌍 How does it work? Every year, lynxes born in our enclosure are released into the wild. Sometimes our population is also reinforced by individuals from abroad. This is one of the key methods of reintroduction aimed at rebuilding the wild lynx population in Poland.
